DEPCOM Power recently made a leadership gift to our AHOPE Day Center to facilitate essential repairs that started on Saturday, June 11. AHOPE serves 200 people a day and over 3,000 annually, providing showers, coffee, snacks, storage, and mail reception. Most importantly, case managers work with clients to get them on the path to permanent housing. Executive Director Mary Jo Powers commented, “We are so grateful for DEPCOM’s generosity. These improvements will allow us to continue to provide a basic and much-needed service to our community.”

DEPCOM is a leading Engineering, Procurement & Construction and Operations & Maintenance services provider for Utility-Scale Solar Power. To date, DEPCOM Power has helped build 12 utility solar plants across North Carolina, most recently in Maxton and Fayetteville, NC. A core value of the company, DEPCOM donates a percentage of project profits to the most deserving outreach programs at every local project community, giving to make the world a better place.

Our AHOPE facility has operated for nearly 20 years and touched countless lives, as we have moved over 1,750 people into permanent housing in that time. At the outset we planned to serve 40 people a day at the Day Center and the current daily average strains its capacity. Depcom’s generous grant of $28,000 will help fund necessary repairs to the plumbing, gutters, drainage, and hot water system. All together, these improvements will ensure the building remains a welcoming and dignified place for people experiencing homelessness to get back on the path toward home.
