Housing Specialist

The Housing Specialist cultivates relationships with landlords and property management companies to identify and procure safe, decent, affordable housing for Homeward Bound clients. In a challenging housing market, this position is critically important to the success of the agency and requires a high degree of creativity, public relations skills, organization, and administration. Donor Relations Manager

As part of the Resource Development team, the Donor Relations Manager plays a vital role in raising revenue for Homeward Bound’s annual fund. The successful candidate will work with the Director of Resource Development to create solicitation and year-round engagement strategies with a focus on upgrading existing donors and attracting new donors; be responsible for all aspects of managing the Donor Perfect software including data entry, analyzing and segmenting donors and generating all necessary reports as requested; will coordinate annual fund, cultivation/stewardship and point of entry events as well as follow up; be responsible for managing agency communications including all social media activity, maintaining and updating the agency web site, crafting newsletters and e-newsletters; assist the Resource Development Director and the Major Gift Officer with major gift cultivation and stewardship activities. Woodfin Overnight Resident Safety Advisor

The Overnight Resident Safety Advisor is responsible for controlling access to The Woodfin, a hard-to-house project of Homeward Bound’s Permanent Supportive Housing Program, located on Woodfin Street in Asheville. Permanent Supportive Housing Case Manager

The Case Manager is a source of support and guidance to individuals experiencing homelessness in Buncombe County.  Case Managers are trained to assist individuals with identifying barriers to housing stability and engage in goal planning that aims to link individuals to the resources and skills that they need in order to achieve long-term housing stability.  This person must have a Bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, or comparable experience.  Applicant must also have experience working with mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders.  Most importantly, we are looking for individuals that have passion for the work and compassion for all people experiencing homelessness in our community, no exceptions. Click here to read the full job description and instructions to apply.

Executive Director

Homeward Bound seeks an Executive Director who is well prepared to provide the inspired external and internal leadership required of this role. This person must have proven, significant, and successful organizational leadership experience and the ability to oversee fundraising, programs and overall operations while working effectively with both the leadership team and the board to guide the organization. A monthly gift allows you to spread the financial impact of your giving across the entire year, lessening a one-time drain on your resources. Also, recurring gifts help Homeward Bound as we can more accurately predict income in advance, which helps with longer range budgeting and decision-making.

Volunteer

Come volunteer with us! We offer service experiences for individuals, faith communities, businesses, and schools and youth groups. Volunteers help us end homelessness in our region by helping provide much-needed services to people transitioning into a home.

Give

Your clean and gently used household items can help others experience the comforts of home. Your donations go directly to women, men, and children moving in to new homes or are used at our Day Center. Donation receipts are available upon request.
