Home for the Holidays Photo Challenge

November 26 through December 31, 2024.

Our Home for the Holidays campaign is dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness find a safe place of belonging, love, and care. A home represents stability and the chance to rediscover joy during a season of hope and connection.

Why we created this challenge: Signs have long been a critical way for people experiencing homelessness to be seen and heard. Through this photo challenge, you’re using the same approach to raise awareness and show your support for Homeward Bound’s stance that housing ends homelessness, and everyone deserves to be home for the holidays.

How to participate:

  1. Create your Home for the Holidays sign:
    • To create your sign; print our provided template or use it to design your own. We encourage everyone to create their own!
    • Include the message: “Help me bring people Home for the Holidays.”
    • Use any material, size, or decorations to create your sign.
  2. Take your photo
    • Hold your finished sign in front of your door.
    • You can choose your front, back, or workplace door.
    • Include family, friends, or even your pets if you’d like!
    • Camera shy? No problem! You can use one of the alternative example poses we’ve provided.
  3. Share your photo on social media!
    • Include any of our provided campaign graphics and sample captions.
    • Tag Homeward Bound of WNC and include #HomefortheHolidaysWNC and #HomewardBoundWNC in your caption.
    • *Private accounts on Instagram need to be set to “public” to tag Homeward Bound.
    • Tag 1 – 3 friends to join the challenge!
    • Add our campaign link to your Facebook or Instagram bios to show extra support! Home for the Holidays 2024
  4. Our top 3 favorites:
    • We’re selecting our top three favorite photo submissions to feature in our January e-Newsletter!
    • If selected, we’ll connect with you to confirm your permission to showcase your photo.
